The Cambodia Consortium for Out-Of-School Children Project
Context
Although primary enrolment is high, thousands of children remain out of school due to poverty, remoteness, disability, or language barriers. In 2019, only 80.5 percent of students completed primary education, leaving one child in every five without a full primary education.
Project Information
The Cambodian Consortium for Out-of-School Children, implemented by ActionAid Cambodia together with six partners and Aide et Action Cambodia. This project aims to promote and protect children’s right to education, with the specific objective of accelerating the enrolment of approximately 5,241 out-of-school children and their completion of quality primary education in 5 provinces within ActionAid Cambodia’s Local Rights Program areas.
The initiative strengthened children’s education outcomes through various interventions, including scholarships, learning materials, ICT resources, improved school infrastructure and WASH facilities, teacher training, and parental livelihood support.
Implemented between 2024 to 2025, the project reached 109 schools across five provinces, open pathways to quality education for children most at risk of dropping out.
